One of the most classic style choices for absolutely any home is the use of wooden floorboards. They allow for ease of cleaning and are not as high-maintenance as carpet and other fabric-based floors. They also have a wide variety of post-installation customisation options, such as staining.

Maintenance
Timber flooring is a very stylish choice for your home or office.
Care should be taken to ensure that the appearance is kept in peak condition for as long as possible. If possible, prevent dirt, sand and grit from accumulating on the surface of your timber floor as this will act like sandpaper and abrade the finish. Mats should be placed at all exterior exits and the floor should be swept or vacuumed frequently. You should avoid wet mopping a hardwood floor and always clean up spills as soon as possible. With water or any other cleaning agent, make sure that you thoroughly wring out your mop prior to applying it to the floor.
Excess moisture that is allowed to seep into the seams between the planks may cause damage to your traditionally installed or floating timber flooring.
DO NOT polish or steam clean your timber floorboards.
Additionally, in areas such as bathrooms, kitchens and spaces where food service occurs, top coating the floor will help prevent against moisture damage.
